Balance drawdown
The largest drop in an account's balance from a prior peak, including every deposit and withdrawal.
Balance drawdown walks the account balance, which moves on every trade close and every deposit, withdrawal, credit or correction. A deposit made during a losing stretch raises the balance and can shrink the drawdown that gets printed afterwards, even though the trading result did not improve.
Because of that, balance drawdown alone is easy to read too optimistically. Comparing it with the equity or time-weighted drawdown on the same account shows whether deposits are doing some of the work.
