They are only the start. The full report checks much more and lists every problem, worst first, with the number behind it.

Grid detection

See how deep the grid really goes.

A grid system never takes a loss. When the price goes against it, it buys again, often twice as big, and waits for a bounce. The curve stays smooth until the day the price does not come back. Monetio rebuilds every stack and counts how deep it went.

In the sample report

Deepest stack
11 positions
Added to a stack
336 of 968

92.8% of the profit came from positions added to an open stack.

The price moves against the trade. The system does not take the loss: it buys again, twice as big. Each buy pulls the average price (dashed) down, so a small bounce closes the whole stack in profit. The balance only goes up.Until the price does not come back. Every new level doubles the size, and the open loss grows faster than the price falls. One move takes the whole account. The smooth balance line never showed the risk.

Deposit masking

Drawdown hidden by deposits.

A top-up after a loss makes an account look healthy. Deposits are separated from trading, so you see what the trading alone did.

In the sample report

Paid in
+3,000 EUR
Made by trading
+2,669 EUR

3 deposits in total. Money was added 1 times right after a drop. The drop looks smaller.

The balance climbs. It looks like a strategy that works. Now take the deposits out. Each one was paid in right after a loss. The trading alone ended below where it started. The deposits hid the drawdown.

Luck versus skill

Is it skill, or a few lucky trades?

The best trades are taken out a few at a time, the trade list is resampled many times, and the months are counted. A result that rests on a handful of trades is reported as such.

In the sample report

Net after removing the best trades
As traded+2,669 EUR
Best 1 removed+2,462 EUR
Best 10 removed+1,714 EUR
Best 48 removed+525 EUR
Many small trades that go nowhere, lifted by a few big wins.Take the best trades out, one at a time.Without its five best trades the result is a loss. That is luck, not an edge.

Cost sensitivity

Does it survive real costs?

Signal pages and backtests rarely show your spread. Every trade is re-priced with wider spreads, commission, swap and slippage to find where the edge disappears.

In the sample report

Costs of gross profit
14.4%
Break-even slippage
6.5 pips
At the spread in the report, the edge looks solid.Your broker's spread is wider, and every trade pays it.At about twice the spread the edge is gone.

Why not just trust the signal page?

The seller earns a fee from your money. Their page shows the numbers that sell.

Monetio sells no signals and has no deal with any seller or broker. It reads the trades and shows what the page leaves out: grids, hidden losses, lucky trades and costs.

Questions

Is this investment advice?

No. Monetio is analytics software, not investment advice. Past performance does not predict future results.

What if my format is not supported?
