Questions,
answered plainly.
What we read, how the verdict is formed, and what happens to your file.
Files and formats
Which files can I analyze?
MT4 and MT5 Strategy Tester reports, MT5 trade history reports (HTML or XLSX), MQL5 Signals trade and history exports, and Myfxbook and SignalStart CSV exports.
What if my format is not supported?
Send it to us through the contact form, with the file attached, and say which platform or signal provider it comes from. We add formats people ask for.
Do backtests and live histories get the same checks?
Yes. The grade is the same math on the trades, whatever the source. A backtest is labeled as one, and live and signal histories add the checks on deposits and withdrawals.
How big can a file be?
Up to 200 MB on a desktop; phones and small laptops stop earlier to stay responsive. The free tier analyses the first 1,000 trades of any file.
The verdict
What do the grades mean?
A: Looks solid. No serious risk found. B: Good, with some risks. Read the reasons below. C: Mixed. Some good, some worrying. D: Risky. High structural risk. F: Very risky. Results implausible. NA: Not enough data. Too few trades to judge. A strategy whose trades lose money is always F, "Loses money". Every grade comes with the findings behind it, worst first, and the good points beside them.
How accurate is the grade?
It follows fixed rules, and its thresholds come from about 3,000 real MetaTrader and signal histories. It can only judge the trades in the file, and it describes the past. Read the findings, not just the letter.
How do you tell luck from skill?
The app removes the best trades a few at a time, resamples the trade list many times, compares the first 70% of the history with the last 30%, and counts how many months and quarters were positive. A result that rests on a handful of trades or one good stretch is reported as such.
Is this investment advice?
No. Monetio is analytics software, not investment advice. Past performance does not predict future results.
Privacy and account
Do I need an account?
Not for your first report. After that, a free account (Google or an email link) keeps you analyzing. An account is also for keeping reports: Plus saves up to 100 of them to your library, and Pro up to 500.
Where are my reports kept?
While you are signed in, every report you open is kept in this browser by itself, in a store of its own for your account. Nobody else signing in on this computer sees it. "Clear this browser" under My Reports removes them. On Plus and Pro, "Save to account" also keeps a report in your account, to open on any device.
What is the refund policy?
A full refund within 14 days of a payment if you have not used any paid feature since. Cancel any time, and the plan runs to the end of the paid period. Details are in the Terms of service.
