Lot escalation
Increasing the size of a position after a loss, rather than keeping size steady or reducing it.
Lot escalation is the mechanic behind martingale and grid systems: each new position after a loss is sized larger, so that one eventual win clears the accumulated losses. The largest step up in a history, relative to the position before it, is one of the clearest signs of this pattern.
Steady position sizing is what makes a track record readable, because each trade’s result reflects the strategy’s edge rather than how deep into a losing sequence the account happened to be.
