Export a backtest or account report from MT5

MetaTrader 5 can export two kinds of report Monetio reads: a Strategy Tester backtest result, and a live account's trading history. Both come from a right-click "Save as Report" action, in HTML or XLSX.

Either format works; XLSX keeps more precision in the numbers, and both open in a normal browser download.

  1. For a backtest: run it

Open the Strategy Tester (View → Strategy Tester), choose the expert, symbol and period, and run it. Once it finishes, open the Backtest sub-tab.

  2. For a live account: open History

In the Toolbox at the bottom of the terminal, open the History tab and pick the date range that covers the whole account.

  3. Save as report

Right-click the trade list and choose "Report" or "Save as Report". Pick HTML for a readable page or "Open XML (*.xlsx)" for a spreadsheet; either one is fine to upload.
