Export a backtest report from MT4
MetaTrader 4 keeps a backtest result in the Strategy Tester tab until you close it. Saving it as a report writes an HTML file with the full trade-by-trade history, which is what Monetio reads.
The file downloads as one .htm or .html page, usually a few hundred KB to a few MB.
Run the test
Open the Strategy Tester (View → Strategy Tester, or Ctrl+R), pick the expert, symbol and date range, and start the test. Wait for it to finish.

Click the Results tab inside the Strategy Tester, right-click anywhere in the trade list, and choose "Save as Report".

Pick a folder and save. MT4 writes a single .htm file with the full report: the summary, the equity graph and every trade.
What Monetio reads from this file
Monetio reads the summary statistics, the equity curve and every trade in the report, including balance operations.
